In conjunction with Academy Travel, SGS will be running a History tour in April 2017. There have been two previous successful tours in 2011 and 2014, incorporating sites of historical interest and relevance to both Ancient and Modern History. The ability to run the tour will be subject to numbers of participants. I invite all students and parents who are interested in the tour to read the proposed trip itinerary attached below and fill out an expression of interest form to receive further information. I would like to have some idea of numbers by February 22. The 2017 tour would begin in Istanbul and visit the Gallipoli peninsula; from there the group would fly to Rome and visit the Bay of Naples, including Pompeii and Herculaneum, which is the core study for HSC Ancient History. The tour would then fly to Germany, taking in the cities of Munich, Nuremburg and Berlin, relevant to the study of Germany in HSC Modern History. Whether you are a student or a parent, this tour should provide a wonderful opportunity to see some amazing places of historical and cultural interest! If there is sufficient interest, there will be an information evening later in the term.
