The planting of self love
Pencils on paper
When we grow to fully love ourselves, it effects how we live, act and speak within the world. The process of fully accepting yourself is something that is so challenging yet so beautiful.
The Seed Of Self Love explores the shared human experience of growing to fully accept yourself, portraying with skulls, that it is only our mind that controls how we view ourselves. This piece highlights this as the seed grows, beginning with cracks (the start of self love), sprouts (the in between) and a bloom of flowers (reaching self love).
Choosing this theme for my Body Of Work was completed with research and personal experience as my aim for this artwork was to create a piece in which the audience can emotionally relate to.
If there was one thing I wanted the audience to receive from this artwork, it would be the fact that we all have the capacity to love ourselves and it needs to be shared with others so that people may know that the challenging experience throughout life is normal.
