The intention of this work is highlight and investigation of the connection surrounding identity of culture through symbolism representation. As a art, the ‘connected ‘ is the name I created to make more inspire and interesting in art of work. The particular relate to my intention to make this art shows that I have been immigrated from Thailand to study in Australia.
The purpose to make this artwork a combination of identity of culture between Australia and Thailand. The creation will be conveying the way within uniqueness pattern and symbolism represent in to counties. Therefore, work will be demonstrating my experiences toward the difference two cultural and investigation of self-portrait cultural. I would like to show the audience who I am now in Australia and my past in Thailand.
Additionally, the choices surrounding how material reflect conceptual idea aspect of my artwork displaying my intentions in form. The use of skill and knowledge about painting refer to materials include water pencils, shading line and water colour. Production work in the outline and details of artwork creative colorful into this art making. Working on water color paper is a large size conveyed and respond to focus on the combination in colour and texture of art.
Refer used of contrasting on self-portrait by created a picture from the mirror that represent reflection ‘who I am and how does development within my life’ . Development my life or getting experience that also represent through symbol at the time. The symbolism use of main symbols indicate identity of cultural such as kangaroo is signify an Australia, symbolism spirit, power and strength.
When in flower Australia floral emblem is the golden wattle display the national colour; green and gold. As the possibilities of native flora and fauna – especially the waratah, the floral emblem of NSW. This is symbol of unity and represent the spirit of the Australian people. Considered use of symbolism of Thailand such as elephant is national symbol for strength, endurance and intelligence, they were in warfare centuries ago.
Through the national plant is Rachaphruek, in English known as the Piper Tree or Indian Laburnu, represent colour is Yellow associated with Buddhism. Yellow is also seen as the colour of glory, harmony, and unity. In addition,in art of work not only representation symbols involve countries, but reference identity of town indicate where I living or have been live there before. For example, a horse concerned to Scone community and nagas is about symbolism in town I have been living is called NongKhai.
