Colour Theory Art projects started in Term 2, during lock down. Students built their knowledge of colour theory and how colour affects moods and meanings in artworks. Colour theory is both the science and art of using colour. It explains how humans perceive colour and the visual effects of how colours mix, match or contrast with each other.

Students spent the first few weeks exploring colour theory and concepts in their VAPDs (art books) before choosing a colour concept they had researched to complete their own acrylic painting. Year 8 looked at artist Howard Arkley and created their own exterior house artwork while Year 9 looked at artists Brett Whiteley and Grace Cossington Smith to inspire their own interior space artworks. All students worked really hard on their creations and demonstrated inspired art room examples of vibrant creativity during such turbulent times.
