Mrs Kaliya Maxwell, our Agriculture Teacher, incubated some eggs from our Leghorn family and our Year 2G class has been babysitting chickens for the past couple of weeks. They have grown very quickly, and the students have loved having cuddles at story time. Noticing, absorption, planning, collaboration and imitation are a few Learning Muscles that have been strengthened during this time.

We would also like to thank Mrs Nat Kelly and Mrs Sinead Scott for taking the chickens home at night. One of the chicken’s leg wasn’t quite right so Mrs Scott made a brace for it. Today the brace came off and there was much delight to see this chick, named Happy Feet, tapping along.
