These students are in their element as they become part of our SGS dance teams.  It’s all about dance and the smiles that go with it.  Ms Amy Foster has joined our SGS team this year, teaching PDHPE part-time whilst she runs her dance studio.

As part of our Sport programme for this year, students from years 5&6 and 7-12, who are interested in dance have trialed to be a member of two dance teams that Amy began teaching this week.  They will learn and rehearse three styles of dance (Lyrical, Hip Hop and Jaz) during their weekly sport class for the rest of the year.  Not all of our secondary students learning dance will compete, but our full primary team will compete.

Our teams will compete in local eisteddfods from midway through this year and in the national competition held in Sydney (2021 Eutopia Cheer & Dance). They will compete in full costume, so there may be a call for some help from creative parents leading up to this time!

Dance has been part of Amy’s life since she was three.  She completed her teaching certificate and exams and opened her own dance studio, Expressions School of Dance, aged 18.  She ran the studio while she completed a Bachelor of Education in Health and Physical Education at Charles Sturt University.  We’re thrilled to have Amy as part of our team.  Her energy, passion and talent are inspiring many students already.
