Applications for 2021 Scholarships

Scone Grammar School offers a range of scholarships made possible through the generosity and support of donors. The School is very grateful to all those who have contributed to our Scholarship Programme.  We believe that awarding scholarships enriches the learning culture and reinforces important values to students within our community.

Please note: Scholarships will only be awarded to a successful applicant if there is a confirmed place available in the respective year, as some years are wait listed.

Categories Available for 2021

There are four categories of scholarships being offered which are outlined below.

Category 1: Academic

Academic Scholarships are available for students entering Years 5, 7, 9 and 11 in 2021. The School uses the Primary Scholarship Programme and the Co-operative Scholarship Programme set up by the Australian Council for Educational Research (ACER) for Years 5, 7, 9 and 11 that is used in the majority of independent schools across Australia. The examinations for these Academic Scholarships for 2021 will be held at 8.45 am on Saturday, 16 May, 2020. Students currently enrolled at Scone Grammar School are eligible to apply.

The Sir David Martin Scholarship is awarded to a Year 7, 2021 student of exceptional academic ability.  This is based on the ACER examination results. Candidates must sit the ACER examination where applications close on 6 May, 2020. Students currently enrolled at Scone Grammar School are eligible to apply.

Examination

The ACER Examinations relating to the Academic Scholarships for 2021 and the Sir David Martin Scholarship for 2021 will take place on Saturday, 16 May 2020 commencing at 8.45 am.  Online ACER applications must be completed for the Scholarship Test 2020 and the Primary Scholarship Programme.

Entry & Fees

The Registration Fee for the Academic Scholarship and the Sir David Martin Scholarship is $100 with no late registrations accepted after midnight, 16 May, 2020.

Category 2: Music

Music Scholarships are offered to students who demonstrate exceptional musical ability. Scholarships are available to students entering Years 6 -11 in 2021. Auditions and interviews will be conducted on the afternoon of Saturday 16 May, 2020 . It is not a prerequisite that students sit an Academic Scholarship. Students currently enrolled at Scone Grammar School are eligible to apply. There is no cost involved in this application.

Music Scholarship Application

Category 3: All Rounder

These Scholarships are for students entering Years 7-11 who have demonstrated academic achievement and be involved in co-curricular activities. They must demonstrate the capability to benefit from, and contribute to, the School’s overall educational programme including academic studies, music, art, drama, outdoor education and sport. They should display a high standard in at least one of these areas or another area not already specified. The School will use a process of interview and a review of achievements. Interviews for these Scholarships will occur following application. Students currently enrolled at Scone Grammar School are eligible to apply.  There is no cost involved in this application.

Applications are open all year.

All Rounder Scholarship Application

Category 4: Leadership

The Leadership Scholarship is awarded to a 2021 student between Years 9-12, who demonstrates leadership in their local community with a capacity to positively influence our School Community. Applicants must demonstrate, in writing, how they satisfactorily meet the stated criteria. Current Scone Grammar School students are not eligible to apply.
